Ibadan Group Rejects Fayose Claim
The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes has criticised Ayodele Fayose over claims that Seyi Makinde plans to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The group said the allegation is false and capable of creating tension in Ibadan.
Fayose had alleged a plot against Rashidi Ladoja, a claim that drew strong reactions from stakeholders.
The council described the remarks as misleading and warned that dragging traditional institutions into politics could cause unrest.
The group said matters concerning the Olubadan stool follow a clear and established process that cannot be altered by political comments.
It urged the public to ignore the claim, insisting there is no basis for such speculation.
Reaffirming support for peace, the council said Ibadan people remain committed to protecting their traditions. It also called on political figures to avoid statements that could disrupt stability in the city.
