El Rufai Denies 2027 Ambition Claims
Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has rejected reports linking him to comments about alleged plans for the 2027 elections.
He said the statements being circulated in the media were not authorised and do not represent his position.
In a statement released through his media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, El-Rufai clarified that he did not approve any remarks attributed to a supposed political associate.
He stressed that such claims should not be taken as his official view.
The former governor also pointed out that he has always spoken for himself on political matters and has no habit of allowing others to speak on his behalf.
He maintained that his public communication remains direct and personal.
The clarification comes at a time he is facing ongoing court proceedings in Kaduna and had recently been granted bail over corruption-related charges.
He is expected to continue his legal battles while distancing himself from political speculation.
