Manchester City and Arsenal played out a dramatic 1-1 draw in their Premier League clash, with a stoppage-time equalizer denying City all three points.

City struck first in the 9th minute when Erling Haaland finished off a swift counter-attack following a clever pass from Tijjani Reijnders. Pep Guardiola’s men then adopted an unusually defensive approach, sitting deep and frustrating Arsenal for much of the match.

Arsenal kept pressing and were eventually rewarded deep into stoppage time. Substitute Gabriel Martinelli latched onto a pass from Eberechi Eze and chipped goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to level the score with virtually the last kick of the game.

The result was historic in another sense — City ended the match with just 32.8% possession, the lowest ever recorded by a Pep Guardiola-managed team in a top-flight match.

The draw leaves both teams sharing the points, with Arsenal showing resilience to snatch a result late on and City left to reflect on a defensive game plan that nearly worked to perfection.
