Nigerian rapper and activist Eedris Abdulkareem has had his Facebook and Instagram accounts suspended by Meta, shortly after releasing his politically charged single, ‘Open Letter to Donald Trump’.

The song, released on TikTok on November 29, 2025, under his label Lakreem Entertainment, is framed as a message to the former US president but primarily criticizes Nigeria’s political elite. In the track, Abdulkareem calls Nigerian leaders “criminals of all shades and hues” who exploit the country while citizens face insecurity, kidnappings, and violence. He also raps “dem dey fear Donald Trump,” highlighting his attempt to draw international attention to Nigeria’s crises.

This is the latest in a series of provocative releases from the rapper. In June 2024, he released ‘Emilokan’, challenging RCCG founder Enoch Adeboye to speak out critically against President Bola Tinubu’s administration, just as he had during Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure. Earlier in April, Abdulkareem released ‘Tell Your Papa’, urging Seyi Tinubu to communicate Nigerians’ hardships to his father. That song was later banned by the National Broadcasting Commission for allegedly violating broadcasting regulations.

Abdulkareem has long used his music to confront authority. His 2004 hit ‘Jaga Jaga’ was banned from radio by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo but became an underground anthem, solidifying his reputation as a fearless critic of corruption and social injustice.
