NDC Rejects Viral Primaries Results
The Nigeria Democratic Congress has dismissed results from its recent primaries circulating on social media, saying they do not represent the party’s official position.
The party said only its National Executive Council has the authority to release the final outcome of the exercise.
The clarification came after reports and unofficial figures from the nationwide primaries held on May 28 and 29 spread across different platforms.
Party leaders urged members and the public to ignore the claims until an official announcement is made.
According to the party, the results remain with the NEC, which will meet in Abuja next week to review the exercise and address issues arising from the primaries.
The meeting was convened on the directive of party leader, Senator Seriake Dickson.
The NDC assured stakeholders that the approved list of candidates would be released after ratification and before submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The party said the NEC meeting would help settle outstanding matters and prepare the final candidates’ list for the 2027 elections.
