Students of the Niger State College of Education, Minna, taking part in the 2025/2026 teaching practice have been moved out of locations marked unsafe due to rising insecurity in parts of the state.
The college announced the decision through its Directorate of Teaching Practice after receiving directives from the state government on school safety and student protection.
The relocation affects students posted to Zone C and some parts of Zones A and B where security risks have been recorded. After a security review, only schools in Bida, Bosso, Chanchaga, Suleja, and the Federal Capital Territory were cleared for the exercise.
Affected students have been told to report to the Directorate of Teaching Practice for reposting to approved schools. The directive applies to all concerned students and is compulsory.
The college said the move is meant to protect students while allowing the teaching practice to continue smoothly, adding that management appreciates the cooperation shown so far as the reposting process goes on.
