Oshiomhole Pushes For MTN Takeover After SA Xenophobia
Senator Adams Oshiomhole on the floor of the Nigerian Senate called for strong action against South African interests, including taking over MTN Group operations in Nigeria.
He spoke during a debate on fresh attacks targeting Nigerians in South Africa, raising concerns over safety and relations between both countries.
He traced Nigeria’s past role in fighting apartheid, recalling how the country made tough choices to support freedom struggles in South Africa.
The senator linked the attacks to internal political issues in South Africa, especially claims that foreigners are taking jobs.
While no final decision has been taken, the Senate is expected to continue discussions as pressure grows for action to protect Nigerians abroad.
