OAU Students Protest Tinubu Transport Chaos
In Obafemi Awolowo University, students have begun a 72-hour lecture boycott following transport problems linked to new CNG buses associated with Bola Tinubu.
The action was announced by the Students’ Union after complaints spread across campus. The protest started this week and will last three days. It has disrupted academic activities.
The union said the new transport system has created serious difficulties. Students reported overcrowding, delays and a shortage of vehicles.
Many also complained about limited coverage across the campus. The situation has made movement to lectures stressful.
The boycott followed meetings among student leaders after a short period of observation. They said the system has not met the needs of the large student population.
The union is demanding more buses and a temporary return to the old system. It also wants proper planning and consultation before changes.
University management had earlier asked for patience while adjustments were being made. However, the students insist action must be taken quickly.
They warned that further steps, including protests, may follow if their demands are not met. The situation remains tense on campus.
