The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, paid a visit to Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Saturday as part of his “thank you” tour across Rivers State.

On arrival, women laid their wrappers on the ground for Wike’s convoy to pass over on its way to the podium where he later addressed his supporters.

The women, alongside other supporters of the Minister, were visibly excited and celebrated as Wike’s vehicle drove over the spread wrappers.

Wike has continued to tour various local government areas in the state to express appreciation for the support he received, while also outlining his political plans ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During these visits, the Minister has repeatedly launched verbal attacks on political figures in the state, warning that their sudden alignment with President Bola Tinubu would not guarantee them tickets in the 2027 elections.

Wike also reignited his rivalry with Governor Sim Fubara over who controls the political structure and influence within the state.
