Seyi Shay has opened up about her four-year music hiatus, calling it a period of deep self-reflection, healing, and spiritual growth.
The singer said stepping back allowed her to reset and gain clarity about life, relationships, and her purpose. “I started a journey of isolation… I could reflect and was blessed with insight which gave me foresight,” she revealed.
Motherhood and solitude, she explained, reshaped her spirituality and perspective on men. Seyi Shay is co-parenting with her daughter’s father, a Nigerian music industry professional based in the UK, and described their relationship as being “great friends.”
She attributed not being married to “technical issues” and expressed comfort with her current outlook on men, adding, “I love all the men. It’s a man’s world.”
