Social media influencer Verydarkman (Martins Otse) and comedian Mr. Jollof (Freedom Atsepoyi) were taken into custody by airport authorities following a physical altercation while boarding a flight at Asaba International Airport.
The clash occurred on United Nigeria Airlines Flight UN0523, bound for Lagos. The two have been embroiled in a long-running online feud, which intensified after VDM accused Mr. Jollof’s wife of having inappropriate ties with “Yahoo boys.”
Videos circulating online show the pair exchanging punches as fellow passengers looked on. VDM later acknowledged the fight on his social media, claiming he had “handled” the situation.
Chibuike Uloka, UNA’s Public Relations Officer, said the airline crew acted swiftly and professionally to de-escalate the confrontation. Both men were removed from the flight, and airport authorities were called in to manage the situation.
Uloka stressed that passenger safety remains the airline’s top priority and reiterated UNA’s zero-tolerance policy for behavior that endangers travelers or staff. The flight continued to Lagos without further incident, while VDM and Mr. Jollof remained in airport custody pending investigation.
