The FCT Police Command has arrested four people, including two sisters, for allegedly staging a f♤ke k!dnapping to ext●rt N5 million from their father.
According to report, the suspects were apprehended after 16-year-old LeadWay Innocent was reported missing by her father, Mr. Innocent, on July 30, 2025. He claimed she left home on July 18 to sit for an exam at Government Secondary School, Karu, Abuja, but never returned.
Shortly after, the family received a ransom demand from unknown callers. Detectives traced the phone number to a residence in Jikwoyi Phase II, where LeadWay was found with Mrs. Tina Mayowa, wife of Mr. Mayowa Adedeji, eating and chatting without signs of distress.
Further investigation revealed that LeadWay’s elder sister, Joy Innocent, conspired with her boyfriend, Mr. Adedeji, and his wife to stage the abdùction. LeadWay was fully involved in the whole plans, staying willingly with the suspects and elder sister’s boyfriend (Mr. Adedeji) while Joy pretended ignorance at home as their parents struggle to raise the ransom.
All four suspects confessed to the crim£ and remain in police custody pending arraignment.
