ADC Postpones Presidential Primary Collation
The African Democratic Congress has shifted the collation of its presidential primary results.
The party announced the decision on Tuesday night through the Chairman of its Presidential Primary Election Committee, Ikechi Emenike.
He said the move was made to allow Muslim members mark Eid-el-Kabir and to resolve travel delays faced by some officials.
The collation had already covered results from 24 states and the Federal Capital Territory before the pause.
According to the party, the remaining states were yet to be processed when the decision was taken. These include several key states across the country where voting had been completed.
Emenike explained that some returning officers were unable to reach Abuja on time due to flight challenges.
He added that the process would continue later on Wednesday at 8pm once all officials are available. The party said the adjustment was necessary to ensure full participation in the final stage.
The states still awaiting collation include Borno, Kano, Oyo, Enugu, Kaduna, Rivers, Imo, Yobe and others.
The ADC said it remains committed to completing the exercise in line with its internal rules and schedule.
