Akwa Ibom’s First Private College of Nursing Sciences Opens Admission for 2025/2026

The Maurid College of Nursing Sciences, Mbiaso, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, the first private College of Nursing Sciences in the state, has commenced admission into its programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In a statement issued by the Registrar, Dr. Tom FredFish, the institution invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its four-year full-time National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in General Nursing and Midwifery.

According to the release, applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) credits in not more than two sittings in core science subjects—Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics—from WASSCE, SSCE, NECO, or GCE O-Level examinations.

The statement further disclosed that candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 JAMB UTME are eligible to apply and obtain admission forms at the institution’s campus in Akwa Ibom State.

Dr. FredFish emphasized that the college is duly approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and is also listed in the JAMB Brochure, assuring prospective students of quality education and professional training.

Education stakeholders have described the establishment of the Maurid College of Nursing Sciences as a landmark development and a valuable addition to healthcare training in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large.
