I’ll Turn Nigeria Around in Four Years – Amaechi
Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation and African Democratic Congress presidential hopeful, has said he would turn Nigeria around within four years if elected in 2027.
He made the pledge on Thursday after submitting his nomination form at the ADC headquarters in Abuja.
Amaechi used the occasion to criticise the current administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying the country’s economic situation has worsened under its policies.
He argued that voters should focus on competence and track record rather than ethnic or regional sentiment when choosing leaders.
The former Rivers State governor said his experience in government, including his time as governor and transport minister, has prepared him for the presidency.
He pointed to major rail projects delivered during his tenure and insisted that his record shows he can handle national challenges.
He also said Nigerians are facing hardship across all regions and urged citizens to reject what he described as divisive politics.
Amaechi added that he is ready for the ADC primaries and confident in his chances, stressing that he would accept any fair process, including consensus or direct election.
