Atiku Rejects Tinubu’s Primary Vote Figure
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed the figures announced during the All Progressives Congress presidential primary, claiming the numbers credited to President Bola Tinubu were fabricated.
He spoke in Yola after taking part in the African Democratic Congress presidential primary exercise in Adamawa State.
Atiku reacted after APC officials announced that Tinubu secured more than 10 million votes to emerge as the party’s presidential candidate for the next election cycle.
The former vice-president insisted the figures should not be taken seriously and maintained that the opposition still had a strong chance ahead of the 2027 elections.
The ADC chieftain said the turnout recorded during his party’s primary showed that many Nigerians, especially young people, were beginning to embrace the opposition.
He added that growing hardship, inflation and rising living costs had increased public frustration with the current administration.
Atiku also dismissed fears about internal disagreements within the ADC, saying the party remained focused on unseating the ruling APC.
He urged Nigerians to support the ADC in the next general election, insisting the party offered a better alternative for the country.
