Atiku Seeks Global Attention For Nigeria Situation
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has raised concerns over Nigeria’s worsening situation as he prepares for a trip to the United States.
He says the country is facing deep internal problems affecting security, the economy, and democratic governance. His media office explained that the visit will draw attention to the situation.
He described the condition of the nation as alarming and urgent.
He pointed to rising insecurity across different regions of the country.
According to him, violence linked to insurgency continues in the North East, while bandit attacks remain common in the North West.
He also noted ongoing killings in parts of the Middle Belt. He warned that government control is weakening in several affected communities.
Atiku also spoke about economic pressure on citizens, saying inflation and currency weakness have made daily life difficult.
He said purchasing power has dropped sharply, leaving many households struggling. He added that trust in democratic processes is also declining as elections approach.
He warned that any manipulation of electoral outcomes could worsen national tension.
He defended his decision to speak on Nigeria’s challenges while abroad, saying it is aimed at raising global awareness and not an act against the country. He urged leaders to act quickly and focus on solutions rather than excuses.
He also called on citizens to remain alert and demand accountability from those in power. According to him, Nigeria needs urgent action to avoid deeper instability.
