Over One Million PVCs Collected For Ekiti Poll – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission has confirmed that more than one million Permanent Voter Cards have been collected ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026.
The commission said the figure reflects strong voter participation across the state.
According to election officials, the PVC collection exercise was carried out across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State as part of preparations for the poll.
The exercise is aimed at ensuring eligible voters are fully prepared to take part in the voting process.
INEC explained that the high number of collected PVCs shows growing interest in the election, which has drawn candidates from multiple political parties competing for the governorship seat.
Security agencies have also been deployed to ensure a peaceful process during the election period.
The commission reiterated its readiness to conduct a credible election, stating that sensitive and non-sensitive materials have been deployed and logistics finalised.
It added that voting will commence as scheduled across all polling units in the state.
