Justice Akintunde Savage of the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja has ordered social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), actress Doris Ogala, and Kelvin Chimaobi Emmanuel to immediately stop mentioning Dr. Chris Okafor, his church, or ministry on any platform until the ongoing lawsuit is resolved.

Dr. Okafor filed the suit, marked ID/14399GCMW/2026, naming Ogala, VeryDarkMan, and Emmanuel as the first to third defendants.

The ex parte application, filed under Order 43, Rules 1, 2, and 7 of the High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019 and the court’s inherent jurisdiction, sought to prevent further public references to the cleric.

Justice Savage’s ruling bars the defendants and anyone acting on their behalf from publishing, releasing, or circulating any alleged private materials involving the claimant, including chats, text messages, images, pictures, or videos.

The court specifically prohibited them from mentioning Dr. Okafor’s name, pictures, videos, or the name of his church, Grace Nation International (also called Liberation City), whether orally or in writing, on social media or any other media platform.

They were also restrained from sharing any materials allegedly meant to blackmail or extort the cleric.

The judge approved substituted service of Dr. Okafor’s legal documents, including the writ of summons, list of witnesses, and statements on oath, via publication in a national newspaper.

The case is scheduled for hearing on February 2, 2026.
