President Bola Tinubu received Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, at the State House in Abuja on Monday.
During their engagement, Tinubu explained that his administration’s reforms are aimed at equipping Nigerian youths with globally competitive skills to safeguard their future.
“Our goal is to use education to drive down poverty,” Tinubu said.
According to a statement released by the Presidential Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, further details of their discussions were made public.
“We will be participating in the G-20 this week,” Tinubu said.
“It is the third time Africa is hosting the G-20. And the central issue is about our youth. We need to strengthen the economy for our youth.
“The reforms are about growth and prosperity for the nation.”
Prince Edward, responding, praised the reforms introduced under Tinubu’s administration.
He also confirmed that the ceremonies in Lagos would honour young Nigerians who are “pursuing their passions, developing relevant skills, and contributing to the nation’s growth and development.”
