Ex Manager Seeks Scholarship For Mr Ibu Children
The former manager of late Nollywood comic actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has appealed to the Enugu State Government to grant scholarships to the actor’s children.
Mr Dominic Nwuzor made the appeal during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja. Nwuzor, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Don Singles International, managed the late actor for over 20 years before his death in March 2024.
He said the request was part of ongoing efforts to secure a stable future for the children, noting that Mr Ibu hailed from Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. According to him, extending scholarships to the children would align with the state government’s drive to improve access to education, especially for vulnerable families.
Nwuzor expressed confidence in Governor Peter Mbah’s commitment to education, describing him as a leader with a strong interest in supporting disadvantaged citizens.
He said the late actor used his talent to project Enugu State positively across Nigeria and beyond, adding that supporting his children would be a worthy gesture.
Mr Ibu is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most loved comic actors. Known for his expressive acting style and natural humour, he featured in several films that made him a household name across Africa. His performances earned him lasting recognition as one of the entertainers who brought laughter to millions.
