Final Voter Registration Begins Today
The Independent National Electoral Commission has started the third and final phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The nationwide exercise begins today, Monday, May 11, and will run until July 10, 2026.
INEC said the registration is open to Nigerians who recently turned 18 and those who missed earlier registration phases.
The commission also advised voters seeking transfer of registration, correction of personal details or replacement of damaged Permanent Voter Cards to use its online portal or visit state and local government offices.
The commission announced that the voters register will be displayed for public verification and objections between July 23 and July 29, 2026.
According to INEC, the process will help improve the accuracy and credibility of the national voters register before the elections.
INEC assured Nigerians that arrangements have been completed for a smooth exercise across the country.
The commission also urged eligible citizens to participate actively in the process as preparations continue for the 2027 polls.
