Gas Marketers Project Price Drop By End Of 2026
Cooking gas prices in Nigeria may fall to between N900 and N1,100 per kilogram by the end of 2026.
This projection was made by the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers, which linked the outlook to planned reforms in the sector.
The association said that although local production of LPG has grown, demand continues to rise faster than supply.
It also pointed to challenges in logistics, storage, and foreign exchange as key reasons prices remain high across the country.
Industry figures show that gas prices have climbed sharply in recent months due to supply disruptions and uneven distribution.
Marketers also blamed market practices such as high transport costs, limited depot locations, and pressure within the supply chain.
The group said improved infrastructure, stronger regulation, and better supply coordination could help reduce prices in the long run.
The federal government, meanwhile, says reforms are ongoing to improve local supply and stabilise the LPG market.
