Mexico Has Not Rejected Me As Ambassador – Omokri
Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has addressed concerns over his ambassadorial posting to Mexico. He said the process has not been rejected by the Mexican authorities.
He explained that discussions are still ongoing between the relevant offices handling the appointment.
He noted that reports suggesting a rejection were not accurate. According to him, Mexico is currently focused on preparations linked to the World Cup, which has slowed down some diplomatic procedures.
He said this is part of normal international scheduling.
Omokri added that ambassadorial postings often take time due to administrative and diplomatic checks.
He maintained that such delays do not amount to rejection but are part of standard approval steps between countries.
He further stated that he is still waiting for final clearance to officially take up the role. He expressed confidence that the process will be completed once all required procedures are concluded.
