Group Warns Over Plot To Remove Osun Police Chief
The Centre for Democratic Integrity and Public Safety (CDIPS), a civil society organisation, has raised concern over claims of a political push to remove Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan.
The group said it was reacting to reports of behind-the-scenes efforts by some political actors in the state, alleging that the move is linked to dissatisfaction with the police chief’s handling of security matters.
CDIPS, through its director-general Michael Akinwande, said it received information suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke is unhappy with Gotan’s approach to crime control and general policing in Osun State.
The organisation urged relevant authorities to resist any attempt that could disrupt security operations in the state, stressing the need for stability and continuity in law enforcement leadership.
