Tinubu’s Eligibility Petition Triggers INEC Review Call
A civic group has filed a petition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) questioning the eligibility of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election and calling for a review of his academic records.
The group asked INEC to investigate concerns surrounding the certificates submitted by the president, insisting that the electoral body should ensure full compliance with constitutional requirements for all candidates.
It said the request is aimed at protecting the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring that only qualified individuals are allowed to contest in the forthcoming general election.
INEC is yet to respond publicly to the petition, while the matter is expected to draw further attention as political activities build up toward 2027.
