No Polling Unit On Social Media – Oyebanji Dismisses Critics
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has responded to criticism following his re-election, saying electoral success is decided at polling units and not through online commentary.
He said the outcome of the poll reflected the choice of voters across the state.
The governor made the remarks in a video shared by Channels Television on its official X account on Sunday.
He argued that public support is earned through performance in office, adding that voters reward leaders who deliver results.
Oyebanji also took a swipe at social media critics, saying many of them focus on online activity rather than direct engagement with communities.
He maintained that election day serves as a reality check for political actors who rely on media narratives rather than grassroots work.
He further expressed appreciation to residents of Ekiti State for re-electing him, noting that his administration would intensify efforts on ongoing projects and policies aimed at improving living standards.
He pledged continued commitment to development, economic stability and better welfare for citizens.
