The Independent National Electoral Commission has dismissed a viral report claiming it had decided on the Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee meeting and the postponement of the Ekiti State Congress and governorship primary.
The rumour, widely circulated across social media and some media platforms, alleged that the supposed resolution was issued and signed by the Secretary to the Commission.
However, in a statement on Friday, Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, clarified that the letter did not originate from the Secretary’s office or any authorised INEC channel.
According to her, “preliminary findings indicate that the signature of the Secretary to the Commission was forged by unscrupulous elements.”
She urged the public, political parties, and media organisations to ignore the document completely, describing it as fake and intentionally misleading.
INEC condemned the forgery, calling it a serious electoral offence designed to create confusion and undermine public trust.
The Commission appealed to those behind the criminal act to stop immediately for the sake of peace and electoral integrity.
It added that it is working closely with security agencies to investigate the case and bring those responsible to justice.

Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
