Visa Applications Set For Price Increase
The government of Japan has approved higher visa charges for Nigerians and other foreign nationals after revising its visa fee policy ahead of the new application cycle.
Under the new arrangement, the cost of a single-entry visa will increase from ¥3,000 to ¥15,000, while the fee for a multiple-entry visa will rise from ¥6,000 to ¥30,000.
The adjustment represents a sharp increase for travellers seeking entry into the country.
The revised charges will affect all visa applications submitted from July 1, with applicants expected to pay the new rates once the policy takes effect.
The move follows a review of a Cabinet order governing visa fees, making it necessary for prospective visitors, including Nigerians, to prepare for higher travel costs when applying for Japanese visas.
