Veteran actress Joke Silva has announced the death of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva, at the age of 72.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared his photo along with an emotional tribute:
“With acceptance of God’s sovereign will… we announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva… long John Silva… Bros B… Uncle B… my easy-going brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953 – August 29th, 2025.”
Her loss comes at a difficult time for the Nigerian entertainment industry, which has recently been hit by multiple tragedies. Actress Peju Ogunmola lost her only child, Ayomikun Oluwanisola, while TikTok comedian Sanku Comedy died in a car crash along the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road.
