Deadly Attack On Police Camp In Kwara
Suspected armed terrorists attacked a Police Mobile Force camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State in the early hours of Saturday.
The assault left three police officers dead and two others injured after gunmen stormed the facility around 3am.
The attackers reportedly arrived in large numbers and opened fire on officers on duty.
The sudden raid caused panic in the area, forcing residents to flee as gunshots rang out through the community.
Security sources said the officers were caught off guard during the attack.
The injured personnel were taken for medical care while efforts began to assess the full scale of damage at the camp.
Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the incident, saying the command was still compiling details as investigations continue into the assault and the identities of the attackers.
