Kwankwaso Named Kano NDC Running Mate
Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso has been picked as the deputy governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in Kano State ahead of the 2027 election.
The announcement places him on the ticket alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
The decision was made after consultations within the party and discussions with key stakeholders in Kano.
Party officials said the choice was aimed at strengthening internal unity and improving the party’s chances in the coming election.
Mustapha, the son of former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is a known political figure in the state. He previously served in public office before his latest nomination into the party’s ticket.
The development has added more attention to the political build-up in Kano as parties continue to pick their candidates ahead of the 2027 polls.
