Leaders Don’t Care About Ordinary Citizens – Falz On Insecurity
Afrobeats singer and activist Falz has criticised Nigeria’s leadership over rising insecurity and economic hardship. He made the remarks during a protest held on June 12 in Lagos.
The demonstration brought together civil society groups, labour unions, youth movements and other organisations.
Participants expressed frustration over worsening living conditions and insecurity.
Falz said the country is facing frequent kidnappings and killings, which he described as deeply troubling. He pointed to several recent abductions across different states as examples of the growing crisis.
According to him, all citizens deserve equal protection regardless of their status. He said many Nigerians feel neglected by those in power.
The entertainer also criticised corruption and poor management of national resources. He said insecurity has reached a point where it affects everyday life across communities.
Falz called for an immediate end to attacks on students and civilians. He added that continued school abductions show the depth of the problem facing the country.
He said Nigerians are increasingly losing hope but should continue to use democratic channels to demand accountability.
While avoiding predictions about future elections, he noted widespread dissatisfaction with governance.
The protest organisers said June 12 was chosen as a day of mass action over insecurity and hardship.
Falz reaffirmed confidence that citizens will eventually express their views through the ballot.
