The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has raised the price of petrol to N992 per litre, up from the previous N865 per litre.
No official explanation has been provided for the increase as of this report.
At NNPC retail stations visited by The Nation, attendants were seen updating fuel pumps to reflect the new price. At the Ojodu Berger station on Ogunusi Road, attendants confirmed that they had been instructed to adjust the price to N992 per litre.
Meanwhile, checks at Ibafo along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway showed that some NNPC outlets were still displaying the old price of N875 per litre, although they were not selling fuel to motorists.
Several NNPC stations visited were not dispensing fuel at all, indicating limited availability amid the price adjustment.
