Police Rescue Adelabu’s Sister And Twin Sons
The Nigeria Police Force has rescued Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons after they were abducted in Ibadan.
The rescue operation was carried out on Saturday evening following several days of intelligence-led efforts by security operatives.
The victims were freed alive about three days after gunmen reportedly kidnapped them while they were travelling to school.
Security personnel tracked the suspects’ movements and launched a coordinated operation that led them to the kidnappers’ hideout.
During the rescue mission, police operatives exchanged gunfire with the suspects. Two alleged kidnappers were killed in the confrontation, while two firearms were recovered.
Authorities have since begun a search for other gang members who escaped, with some believed to have suffered gunshot injuries.
The abduction had sparked concern across Oyo State after armed men intercepted the family on June 3 and took them away.
Following the successful operation, the victims were reunited with their family, bringing an end to days of uncertainty and anxiety.
