Fresh signs of strain have emerged within Nollywood actress Regina Daniels’ family after she and her UK-based brother, Sweezzy, quietly unfollowed each other on Instagram.

The social media fallout comes amid Regina’s ongoing marital crisis with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and appears to extend beyond just the two siblings. Checks also show that her younger brother, Sammy West, recently released on bail, has unfollowed Sweezzy as well, fuelling speculation of deeper family disagreements.

The development has surprised many fans, particularly because Sweezzy and the family matriarch, Rita Daniels, were previously vocal and united in calling for Sammy West’s release during his detention.

This unfolding family tension is closely tied to events that began in early November 2025, when Sammy West was arrested in Lagos and later transferred to Abuja. The arrest followed a petition reportedly filed by Senator Nwoko, accusing him of offences including criminal conspiracy, assault, theft and cyberbullying. He was eventually granted bail on November 10, with conditions set at ₦5 million.

Observers believe the situation is further complicated by the bitter separation between Regina Daniels and the senator. The actress has recently spoken about an intense child custody dispute, alleging that Nwoko dismissed her nannies and pressured them to make false claims against her. She also claimed that her estranged husband is seeking full custody of their children, who are currently under his care.

Together, the legal battles, custody dispute and sudden social media rift suggest a widening crack within the family, leaving fans closely watching how the situation unfolds.
