Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) has served out the six-month suspension imposed on her by the Senate on March 6, 2025, clearing the way for her return to plenary sessions.

The lawmaker was barred from legislative duties, denied entry into the National Assembly, and stripped of access to official resources after being accused of violating Senate rules.

Akpoti-Uduaghan consistently rejected the sanction, describing it as politically motivated and linked to her petition accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.

Her suspension fueled weeks of controversy, peaking in July when she stormed the National Assembly complex with her lawyers, displaying a court judgment she said ordered her reinstatement.

Now that the suspension has lapsed, focus has turned to how her comeback will unfold, especially given the unresolved tensions between her and the Senate leadership.
