Sowore Accuses Tinubu, DSS DG Of Political Targeting
African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused President Bola Tinubu and DSS Director-General Tosin Ajayi of trying to secure his conviction to stop him from contesting the 2027 presidential election.
He made the allegation in a post on X.
According to Sowore, an earlier attempt to disrupt his party’s presidential primary failed, leading to what he described as a fresh strategy through the courts.
He also claimed a Federal High Court judge was being used to pursue the case against him.
The activist further alleged that prison authorities placed him in an unsafe section of the Kuje Correctional Centre as part of a plan to later move him into DSS custody.
He said the move was intended to give the secret police direct control over him, though the DSS has not publicly responded to the allegation.
Sowore also criticised the Nigeria Union of Journalists for recently honouring the DSS chief and maintained that his ongoing prosecution over comments about President Tinubu was politically motivated.
He insisted the case was aimed at preventing his participation in the 2027 election.
