A stoppage-time own goal handed us a dramatic 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium, keeping us firmly at the top of the Premier League table.

After a quiet first half, we returned with renewed energy, testing Wolves keeper Johnstone multiple times. The breakthrough finally came on 70 minutes when Bukayo Saka’s curling corner struck the post and deflected off Johnstone into the net.

Wolves refused to go quietly. In the 90th minute, Tolu Arokodare nodded home Matheus Mane’s cross to level the score, threatening a late collapse similar to recent games against Sunderland and Aston Villa. But in the 94th minute, Yerson Mosquera inadvertently turned another Saka delivery past Johnstone, sending the Emirates crowd into raptures and securing a crucial three points.

Frustrating First Half
Expectations of an easy game against the bottom-of-the-table side were quickly tempered as the opening 45 minutes proved cagey. Our first real chance saw Jurrien Timber nod over from close range, while Wolves countered through Hwang Hee-Chan, only for David Raya to make a smart save. Ben White pulled up with a muscle injury, replaced by Myles Lewis-Skelly on the half-hour mark.

Gabriel Martinelli came close to breaking the deadlock on three occasions—heading wide, seeing a shot blocked, and then poking another past the post—but we went into halftime without a shot on target. Wolves had a rare opportunity near the end of the half, denied by a brilliant Piero Hincapie sliding block.

Second-Half Breakthrough
Our persistence paid off on 70 minutes. Saka’s corner curved toward the far post, hit Johnstone, and found the net, ending a long wait to score against Wolves in such circumstances. We immediately searched for a second goal, with Ødegaard, Leandro Trossard, and Mikel Merino brought on to add fresh impetus. Ødegaard fired just wide, Gyokeres’ shot on the turn narrowly missed, and Trossard’s close-range effort skimmed past the post.

Late Drama and Victory
Wolves pushed for a late equalizer, and Arokodare’s 90th-minute header from Mane’s cross beat Raya to make it 1-1. But our fightback came in the fourth minute of stoppage time when Mosquera’s deflection off Saka’s corner sent the ball into the net, securing a thrilling 2-1 win.

The victory kept us five points clear at the top and showcased our resilience in absorbing late pressure while producing moments of fortune when it mattered most.
