President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with six governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the State House in Abuja.
Details of the discussion were not disclosed at the time of this report, and the meeting reportedly ended without any public briefing from the governors involved.
Those present included the governors of Jigawa, Umar Namadi; Edo, Monday Okpebholo; Ekiti, Biodun Oyebanji; Kogi, Usman Ododo; Sokoto, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto; and Kebbi, Nasir Idris.
The meeting comes at a time when insecurity is heightening across the country, with kidnappings involving school children and worshippers recorded in parts of the North-West and North-Central.
It will be recalled that on 26 November, President Tinubu declared a nationwide security emergency and directed the military, police and intelligence agencies to immediately expand recruitment and deploy thousands of additional personnel.
