The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has revealed that several major world powers are supporting Nigeria’s efforts to combat terrorism.
Ribadu confirmed that countries, including the United States (US), France, the United Kingdom (UK), and others, are already offering technical assistance in Nigeria’s anti-terror operations.
He made these remarks in Kontagora, Niger State, during a visit to Bishop Bulus Yohanna, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Northern Region, following the recent kidnapping of students from St. Mary’s Private Catholic School, Papiri in Niger State.
Highlighting President Bola Tinubu’s deep concern, Ribadu said the President has instructed security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted children.
Addressing Christian leaders and parents gathered at St. Michael’s Catholic Cathedral, the NSA said: “This is a painful time for all of us, but I want to assure you that we will rescue your children. The President is very worried and has ordered that everything necessary be done.”
He conveyed President Tinubu’s message of unity and determination, noting that the President had postponed official duties, including a planned trip, to concentrate fully on the situation.
Ribadu stated that the Federal Government is taking full responsibility to restore peace in the affected communities.
He added, “The whole world is standing with us. This evil will not succeed. Your children will be returned safely — that is our solemn promise.
“Many well-meaning people globally are coming to support us, especially the United States of America.
“We are grateful to all, particularly European countries like France, the United Kingdom, and a few others.”
