Social media activist VeryDarkMan has once again taken aim at Wizkid amid the ongoing feud between the singer and Seun Kuti over the legacy of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

In a new video, VeryDarkMan claimed that Wizkid is far from being on the same level as Fela, or even himself, questioning the singer’s contributions to society.

“Wizkid is not even greater than me, talk less of Fela. He’s not. Contribution to the society? Get out, he’s not. A lot of them can’t even lace my boots,” he said.

He alleged that Wizkid has developed a pattern of downplaying the achievements of those who came before him, accusing him of deliberately provoking fans to disrespect Fela’s name.

“He started a pattern, and after testing the waters he decided to try again. That is why he decided to do this one that he is doing to Fela. The sad part is that Wizkid did not read the room before he decided to do this thing to Fela by instigating his followers to insult Fela Kuti’s name,” VeryDarkMan said.

To illustrate his point, he cited a previous incident involving music executive Don Jazzy, claiming Wizkid amplified social media comments that diminished the veteran’s influence.

“I’ll give you an example: Don Jazzy. Wizkid say e no fit talk to person wey dey signed to an influencer. Then another person now ask, shay na Don Jazzy you dey talk to? And Wizkid reposted it. Then another person said Don Jazzy na influencer na, and Wizkid reposted it.”

VeryDarkMan’s remarks have reignited discussions online about respect for music legends, with many weighing in on how contemporary artists should honor Fela’s enduring legacy.

Wizkid isn’t even greater than me, not to talk of Fela. What impact has he made on society? Until you bring something to the society, get out! 😭
