ADC Demands Unrestricted Access To El Rufai
The African Democratic Congress has called on the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to allow unrestricted access to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El Rufai.
The party insists that his family, doctors, lawyers and political associates must be allowed to visit him while in custody.
The demand followed a visit by top ADC leaders to the ICPC headquarters in Abuja on Friday, where they were reportedly denied access to the former governor.
The delegation included senior party officials who said their request was turned down without clear explanation.
The ADC raised concerns over El Rufai’s treatment in detention, citing claims from his family that he had been restricted from seeing medical personnel and receiving basic support.
The party also described the heavy security presence during their visit as unnecessary and intimidating.
The opposition party warned that continued denial of access would deepen public suspicion and insisted that El Rufai must be treated with dignity under the law.
It maintained that it would continue to demand transparency in the handling of his case.
