ADC Moves Date Of Presidential Screening Exercise
The African Democratic Congress has postponed its presidential and governorship screening exercise to May 18, 2026. The party announced the change on Saturday as political parties continue preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise had earlier been fixed for this weekend before the sudden adjustment.
The announcement was made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi. According to the statement, the party did not provide detailed reasons for shifting the screening date.
Aspirants and party stakeholders were informed about the new schedule through the official notice.
The ADC also adjusted arrangements for some federal lawmaker aspirants from parts of Northern Nigeria facing security challenges.
The party said affected aspirants would now be screened in Abuja instead of their earlier locations. It added that those involved would receive fresh details and updated schedules directly.
The development comes as political parties intensify internal activities ahead of the next elections. The ADC has continued consultations and mobilisation efforts across the country as it seeks to strengthen its position before the 2027 polls.
Party leaders say the process will continue smoothly despite the changes.
