Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is preparing to announce his new political party on Wednesday, insiders say.

The move comes just days before the December 15 deadline for submitting governorship nominations to INEC for the 2026 election scheduled for August 8.

Sources reveal that Adeleke and his team have finalised plans to launch a new platform that will support his reelection bid. The announcement is expected to be made personally by the governor.

“Everything is in place for Governor Adeleke to unveil his new party on December 10,” a source confirmed.

While the decision is set, Adeleke’s camp has considered two parties: the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Accord Party (AP). Discussions have weighed the pros and cons of each option.

Some advised caution about joining ADC due to its association with former governor Rauf Aregbesola, whose tenure remains controversial for paying workers half salaries, a legacy still resented by state employees.

Adeleke’s team also considered forming a completely new party, but the high costs of establishing structures across all 30 local governments could be a challenge.

Despite the options, Governor Adeleke is determined to meet the INEC deadline with his new political choice.

Recall that Adeleke resigned from the PDP amid internal conflicts, making this announcement crucial for his 2026 governorship plans.
