Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has formally joined the Accord Party and revealed his intention to seek re-election in 2026.

The announcement was made on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osun, in the presence of national and state leaders of the party. Adeleke said he had actually joined the party over a month ago, on November 6, following extensive consultations with stakeholders and opinion leaders.

“I joined the Accord Party as a platform to pursue a second term in 2026. This decision comes after careful deliberation with stakeholders and residents of Osun State,” he said. “We chose Accord because its focus on welfare aligns with our commitment to the well-being of citizens and workers.”

The governor welcomed party leaders into the Government House, stressing unity and shared responsibility. “We are united in progress and good intentions for the people of Osun State and Nigeria. Our task is to maintain a united front and ensure inclusive leadership that considers all groups,” he said.

Adeleke also highlighted the party’s emphasis on public welfare, noting that government should prioritize the needs of the people. “Our administration has worked tirelessly to improve infrastructure, social services, and overall welfare. Osun has never experienced such progress in governance and service delivery,” he added.

He called on citizens across all parts of the state—from Igbomina to Ijeshaland, Ifeland, Osogbo, Iwoland, Modakeke, Gbongan, Igbajo, Ikire, Ikirun, and Ede—to support the Accord Party as the platform for continuity and development.

“Osun voted for good governance in 2022, and they will support continuity in 2026. Accord is our party for victory next year,” Adeleke concluded, officially declaring his re-election bid under the Accord Party banner.
