Edo Orders Schools To Reopen After Security Review
The Edo State Government has directed schools that were temporarily closed over security concerns to resume academic activities on Monday, June 15, 2026.
The decision follows a review of the security situation in affected areas. Authorities said normal school operations can now continue.
The move is expected to bring students and teachers back to classrooms.
The schools had earlier been shut as a precautionary measure amid security fears. State officials said the closure was necessary to protect students, teachers and other school staff.
Following fresh assessments, the government believes conditions have improved enough for learning to resume. Relevant agencies have also been engaged to support safety efforts.
Parents, guardians and school administrators have been advised to prepare for the reopening. Education authorities are expected to monitor compliance and ensure academic activities restart smoothly.
Schools have also been encouraged to maintain vigilance and follow safety guidelines. The government said the welfare of students remains a priority.
Officials expressed confidence that the reopening will allow pupils to continue their studies without further disruption. They assured residents that security agencies remain active in protecting communities.
The government added that it will continue to monitor developments closely. Education activities are therefore set to resume across the affected schools from Monday.
