The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost another member in the Senate following the defection of the lawmaker representing Kaduna South, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Katung announced his decision on Wednesday through a letter read on the floor of the Senate by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
In the letter, the senator said the PDP had become “fractured” and could no longer adequately reflect or advance the aspirations of voters in his constituency.
He added that the “evolving political realities” in the country had convinced him that the APC offered a more secure and hopeful future for both himself and the people he represents.
