Atiku Urges Tinubu to Leave Aso Villa After ADC Victory
Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has reacted to his emergence as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 elections with a strong message to President Bola Tinubu.
He spoke shortly after the party’s primary election held in Abuja.
Atiku, who defeated rivals in the contest, suggested that Tinubu should prepare to exit the presidential Villa, insisting that the outcome of the 2027 election would favour the opposition.
His remarks came as he addressed journalists following the announcement of results.
He also used the moment to appreciate other contestants in the ADC primary, saying they showed commitment to national progress and party unity.
According to him, the race was driven by the desire to improve the country and deliver better governance.
Atiku secured 1,846,370 votes to clinch the ticket ahead of Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen.
While Atiku described the exercise as fair, both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen rejected the result and raised concerns over the process.
