Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, Vice Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, has passed away just two months after taking office.
Reports from Badagry confirmed that she died on Saturday, a development that has thrown the local political class and traditional institutions into mourning.
Ajose was sworn in on July 27, 2025, alongside LCDA Chairman Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren and five councilors during an inauguration ceremony conducted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos.
Family sources confirmed her death and revealed that her remains have been taken to a morgue.
Princess Ajose was the daughter of His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyekan Possi Ajose, the Alapa of Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom, a loss that has deeply affected the royal family and the wider Badagry community.
Her passing comes barely a month after the death of Oluwakemi Rufai, Councillor for Ward C1 in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, who also died shortly after being sworn into office on August 13.
